Hairy gourd soup

    We usually stir-fry hairy gourd shreds but decided to make hairy gourd soup instead today. Doesn't taste bad at all - a smooth clear soup.

    • 1 handful ikan bilis
    • 1 kg water
    • 200g hairy gourd, shredded
    • A pinch of salt
    • ½ tbsp light soy sauce


    1. Boil the ikan bilis in water for 20 minutes under medium heat.
    2. Add the shredded hairy gourd, salt and light soy sauce and allow it to boil for 2-3 minutes. Serve.
