Fish in tomato and chili sauce

    As Singaporeans, we like spicy food a lot but not too spicy either. Add more chili if you need it to be more fiery.

    • 2 cloves garlic
    • 2 cm knob ginger
    • 3 pieces shallot
    • 2 big chili
    • 2 pieces fish
    • 2 cups water
    • A pinch of salt
    • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
    • 1 tomato, cut into fours


    1. Pound the garlic, ginger, shallots and chili into a paste.
    2. In a hot oiled pan, fry the paste under medium heat until fragrant.
    3. Put the fish in the pan and add water. Cover the lid and allow it to boil.
    4. Add salt, light soy sauce and tomato. Stir to mix. Cook until the tomatoes soften. Serve.
