Pork belly and beancurd in dark sauce

    This is a very fragrant dish that we usually cook at home. Pork belly tastes so good even if it's not very healthy!

    • 3 cloves garlic, smashed
    • 400g pork belly, cut into smaller slices
    • 3 tbsp dark soy sauce
    • ¼ cup water
    • 2 pieces beancurd (tau gwa), quartered
    • A pinch of salt
    • 1 tsp light soy sauce
    • ½ tbsp sugar


    1. In a wok, fry garlic under medium heat until slightly browned.
    2. Add pork belly, dark soy sauce and water. Mix well. Cover the wok and allow it to boil.
    3. Once the water boils, add beancurd and stir-fry until the beancurd turns soft.
    4. Add salt, light soy sauce and sugar. Mix well until the seasonings are well-combined. Serve.
